Magazine photoshoot board

I created a board on pintrest, showing my final ideas for poses, hair and makeup for my shoot.

Follow Erin Harper's board magazine photo shoot on Pinterest.

I have decided on using either a guitar or ukulele as props to reflect the magazines genre, I have also decided on using red balloons as a prop to add color. The location will be outside to give the shoot a more relaxed natural feel with softer lighting. Makeup wise I am going to use simple dark eye makeup with a strong lip colour for contrast, in terms of hair; a simple side braid will give an alternative messy feel .

Magazine layout board

Here i have used Pinterest to build a board containing layout ideas for my contents, cover ad double page spread. I want something relatively quirky where the image layout is unusual and the font sizes change Follow Erin Harper's board magazine layout ideas on Pinterest.

Creating a colour pallet

I have created a colour scheme/pallet on fireworks, I took answers from my survey and some of my own thoughts to create something suitable for both genders and the genre.
All of the colours have quite cool tones to them, and are quite dark/grungy except for the blue which I will use as an accent colour to attract the readers eye to various 'puffs' of information. I will use the black for detailed writing and outlines and the pinks/greens/purples for larger texts of image backgrounds. They are suitable for both genders as they re not too bright, they have a much richer colour than pastels of neon's, which I think look a bit tacky and suit a pop genre better

Final Masthead design

For my masthead I eventually decided to use the font 'blackout sunrise' from da fonts, it allows me to edit it easily and to overlap images onto it. I filled in the colour using adobe fireworks in a dark pink colour, this will provide colour contrast to the rest of the images and text as its quite bold.
I also tried a light blue colour as well, I'm still unsure which one I'll go for and I'll probably decide nearer the time of the first draft .

Coverline and secondary fonts ideas

I have actually decided on something for once, well sort of...
I have made a moodboard for font types for the covelines and secondary text on my magazine front cover. I wanted an unusual, almost handwritten feel to the text with many fun shapes and designs. I created my moodboard on adobe fireworks and sourced the fonts from DA fonts

Mise-en-Scene moodboard

I have created a moodboard on polyvore for inspiration for my main photo shoot. The theme will be quite quirky and nature will play a big part in the form of the location or props.

I also like the use of props and scenery in this image, i might do something like this for an indoor shoot.
